Physical therapy is offered at MMSPT/RTC for individuals with both acute and chronic injuries. We offer care both before and after your surgery. Our highly trained Physical Therapists are board-certified with the State of Idaho and will first perform a detailed examination and establish a treatment plan.
Every case requires an individualized evaluation and treatment approach. Common symptoms include headaches, dizziness, light and/or noise sensitivity, double or blurred vision and difficulty thinking.
Most concussions resolve independently with many individuals reporting no symptoms after 7-10 days. If your symptoms have not resolved, it is important to know that physical and occupational therapy can help with headaches, balance, dizziness, stability, focus, gait and mood. Your treatment plan will focus on reducing symptoms and determining the root cause of those symptoms.
Our team will work closely with you, your referring physician(s), coaches and employers on your recovery.
Moscow Mountain Sport & PT and Reactiv Training Center is proud to offer FREE ImPACT baseline and post-injury computerized neurocognitive testing to all local athletes. Testing takes approximately 30 minutes. Post-injury test results are provided to your physician to provide them additional and valuable information to help in the decision of return to play. If a baseline has not been done, we can still do a post-injury test as we can compare the results to ImPACT's large database. Baselines should be done every 2 years. Contact us to schedule your athlete or an entire team!
If you are not sure if you need a full evaluation, we offer complimentary Post Concussion Vestibular Ocular Motor Screen (VOMS). The VOMS takes around 15 minutes and allows the therapist to quickly assess the vision and vestibular system which will help aid the health care team to understand where the patient is at with regards to healing as well as which areas of the brain are more involved to help direct concussion rehab. For more information on the VOMS screen

Vestibular rehabilitation therapy (VRT) is an exercise-based program designed to promote central nervous system compensation for inner ear deficits. VRT can help with a variety of vestibular problems, including benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV) and the unilateral or bilateral vestibular hypofunction (reduced inner ear function on one or both sides) associated with Ménière’s disease, labyrinthitis, and vestibular neuritis. Even individuals with long-term unresolved inner ear disorders who have undergone a period of medical management with little or no success may benefit. VRT can also help people with an acute or abrupt loss of vestibular function following surgery for vestibular problems.
